Lubbock- Betty Kelly passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at her home. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 p.m. today, January 26, 2018 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 86 years on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers followed by burial in Littlefield Memorial Park. Betty was born on May 20, 1931, to Bud and Mary (Page) Emery in Brownfield, TX. Betty lived in Amherst and worked as manager for Jolly Roger convenient store in Littlefield. On June 6, 1961 she married “B.B.” Kelly in Brownfield. Betty moved to Lubbock in 2001. She was an active member of Woodrow Baptist Church and volunteered for many years at Bender Terrace Nursing Home. Betty was a caregiver for many and enjoyed baking for shut-ins. She adored her family and each one held a special place in her heart. Betty enjoyed camping with her family, sewing, and crafting. She was meticulous at keeping her home clean and organized.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, B.B. Kelly; two sons, infant, David Reed Johnson, and Danny Ray Johnson; and sister, Francis Keith.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Brenda Goyne and husband, Bernie; step-daughter, Pam Frederick and husband, Rick; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and also her beloved puppies, KoKo and Joy.
