photo_033159_4052136_1_14717606_20160427Billy Gene Hunt, 82, of Denver City, passed away April 25, 2016 in Denver City. He was born July 4, 1933, in Cooper, Texas, to Fred and Dorothy Hunt. He married Virginia Moore in 1953. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2000. He then married Edna Pearl Hooten on July 11, 2002 in Denver City. Billy served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1963. He moved to Denver City in March of 1964 where he was a barber for 33 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Dorothy Hunt; his first wife, Virginia Hunt; and a stepdaughter, Tina Baxter. Billy is survived by his wife, Edna Hunt of Denver City; a daughter, Donna Mason of Andrews, Texas; a son, Perry Hunt of Denver City; his stepchildren, Dean and Gene Hooten of Bowie, Texas, Jimmy Hooten of Chico, Texas, and Rhonda McCulloch of Denver City, Texas. He is also survived by three grandsons, Matt and Mitch Mason of Midland, Texas and Bobby Hunt of Denver City, Texas; two granddaughters, Megan Mason of Amarillo, Texas, and Kara Hunt of Ft. Worth, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren. Billy will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Texas Boys Ranch, St. Jude’s, or Hospice of Lubbock.
