DENVER CITY-Celebration of life services for Claude Randle Addison, 89, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Plains TX with Rev. Patrick Hamilton and Rev Glenn Harlin officiating, under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. He died Sunday, July 16, 2017 in Denver City. He was born to the late Austin and Ida Addison on July 22, 1927 in Scurry County, TX. Claude moved to Yoakum County in 1932 and married Phyllis Sparks on October 17, 1953 in Gomez, TX. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Plains. A farmer and rancher all his life, he served as Director of the Yoakum County Farm Bureau and Yoakum County Livestock Association. He was also awarded the Conservation Farmer of the year. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Raymond Addison, Clistus Addison, Austin Addison. Survivors include his wife Phyllis, daughters: Debbie Steffens and husband Danny , son: Tim Addison and wife Judi all of Plains, Two grandsons: Scott and wife Jennifer of Lubbock, Chris and wife Karolyne of Snyder, granddaughter: Stephanie of Washington, DC, great grandson Caleb, Three sisters: Velma Dearing, Thelma Cheatham, and Willie Mae Engle all of Plains, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the First Baptist Church 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
