The Cubs traveled to Kermit to take on the Yellowjackets in their final game of non-district and came out a 66-41 winner.

They Cubs allowed Kermit to come out and score quick going up 8-0. The Cubs would answer though off of a Chili Morin touchdown, his first of four on the night. Cubs trail 8-7 at the end of one.

In the second Kermit was able to add another touchdown before Brock Sires hooked up with Malachi Garcia for 48 yard touchdown. Both teams would add another touchdown to make the score 21 all at the half.

Cubs receive the ball to start the second half but stall and end up punting the ball. The Yellowjackets would score on their drive but the PAT was blocked making the score 27-21. After a 77 yard run by Morin and the PAT the Cubs took their first lead of the game with 5:53 on the clock in the third. The Cubs would score another touchdown in third off of a pass to Adrian Martinez. Putting the Cubs up 35-27 heading into the fourth.

The Cubs would score five more times in the fourth, off of three touchdown a 29 yard field goal and a pick six to make the final 66-41.

Brock Sires went 11 for 21 with 323 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. The Cubs were lead on the ground by Chili Morin with 273 yards and four touchdowns. Malachi Garcia was the leading receiver on the night with eight receptions and 131 yards.

The Cubs will be in action next Friday at 7 pm as the Denver City Mustangs come to town to get district play started. Just a reminder the game is a white out so all fans are encouraged to wear white. This will also be military/first responder appreciation night, and we will retire the number 66 worne by SGT. Steve Morin Jr.
