Cubs jumped out to early lead over Estacado on Tuesday night and took home an 8-4 victory on senior night. “This was a big win.” Coach Upchurch said after the game. With Denver City falling 5-4 to Levelland playoff hopes are still alive for the Cubs.

Estacado jumped out to 1-0 lead in the top of first inning on a single by K. Cobb. As we head into the Cub half of the inning Kris Florez hit and 2 RBI double off of Cobb, Michael Madrigal and Dakota Oliver both singled and each drove in a run.

Steven Gomez earned the win for the Cubs as he tossed two and two-thirds innings of two run one hit ball, and stuck out one. Cobb took the loss for the Mats after throwing two innings, giving up five runs on ten hits and walked one.

The Cubs had 17 hits on the night. Florez, Justin Underwood, Madrigal, Trent Rolan, and Isaisas Morin each had multiple hits on the night. Madrigal, Underwood, and Florez lead the Cubs in hitting with three a piece.

The Cubs will be in action Friday with first pitch set for 7:00pm in Denver City. The game will be broadcast live on, as we will be having a joint broadcast with Denver City.
