The Cross-X Debate team of Erin English and Marlow Davis once again took their talents to Austin over spring break where they competed in the state UIL State Cross-X Debate competition.
This was Marlow’s 4th year at state meet and Erin’s 3rd, “but the world of 4A debate is a whole different planet so there was a huge learning curve,” debate coach Sonya Gore.
“I am super proud of these girls for breaking to the octa finals at state. I think there were 60 teams competing, and we came out of the prelim rounds in 14th place.
“We lost in the octos, but these girls have had a great career in debate and I have loved coaching them.”
Both girls are seniors and are deeply involved in several UIL speaking events.
