Fall came to StoryTime at Yoakum County Library in Plains on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

The group studied leaves, with the time opening with the pledges, calendar, and the “Days of the Week” song.

Those in attendance were Ben, Brit, Tirzah, Sophia, Olivia, Bibi, and Rhea.

A felt board activity included bilingual counting leaves and placing them in order on the number line.  The group also practiced color recognition and sorting, also using a few Spanish color words. The books read were  “I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves,” “In the Middle of Fall,” and “Leaf Man.” The youngsters also had a handprint leaf craft.

Next week the group will celebrate with a Harvest Party, with a theme of pumpkins. Come join the Family StoryTime, which meets weekly at the Yoakum County Library in Plains at 10 AM each Wednesday.
