The Fillies continued their dominance of district opponents with a 32-6 win over Post on Tuesday on the Lady Antelopes home field.

The game started out looking like the Fillies were going to be tested as the Lady Lopes jumped out to a 6-3 lead after one inning of play. But Jewell Santillan came on after the first inning and shut Post down the remainder of the game. She was backed by an offense that hammered Post pitching for 29 hits that led to their 32 runs.

After coming up with 3 runs in the top of the first the Fillies added 8 in the second, 7 in the third, 9 more in the fourth, and finished out the scoring with 5 more in the fifth inning, which was the last inning due to the 10 run mercy rule.

Haleigh Gonzales, Santillan, and Denisse Saenz all finished with five hits, Kathleen Chavez, Haley Villerreal, and Johnna Hix added three hits each, Hanna Gonzales had two hits, and Heidi Gonzales, Kelsey De La Rosa, and Julie Barrientes each had one hit.

Chavez finished with six RBI’s, Santillan, Saenz, and Villerreal all had four, Haleigh Gonzales finished with three, Hix had two, and Heidi Gonzales, Bailey Marin, and De La Rosa all had one.

After relieving Haleigh Gonzales at the end of the first inning Santillan got credit for the win. She gave up no runs on three hits, walked one, and had no strike outs.

With that many runs scored there were no strikeouts recorded from either team in the game.

The Fillies upped their district record to 3-0 and their season mark went to 12-5-1. They will host Roosevelt on Saturday in a noon start and travel to Brownfield on Tuesday with the first pitch set for 5 pm.
