Frances Pirtle

Lubbock- Frances Pirtle, 92 of Lubbock, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. She was born on October 15, 1925, to the late James Fred and Iva Lee (Harris) Malcolm in Terry County, Texas. Frances graduated from Brownfield High school and briefly attended Texas Tech University where she met her husband Jeff. She worked as a secretary for Fenner Tubbs Chrysler for several years. Later she went on to work for Furr’s Corporate Office before retiring. She was a charter member of Forrest Heights United Methodist Church. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother and was known as the family caretaker.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Barbara Rude of Lubbock and Gary Pirtle of Mesquite; sister, Velda Wilson of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Ryan Rude and Sean Rude and great-granddaughter, Allison Rude. She is preceded in death by her husband Jeff (1974); parents; and siblings, Golda Blackstock, Opal Jones, Ona Pawley, Luther Malcolm, Graydon Malcolm and Iola Hopkins.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Combest Family Funeral Homes. Services are today, Friday, March 30, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Forrest Heights United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
