Last week, on Wednesday, June 6, Yoakum County Library Plains hosted Game Warden Aaron Sims at the Community Building. The large group of youngsters enjoyed playing guess-what-animal as well as hearing all of the specifics about local game. There may be many future wardens in this group!

On Wednesday, June 13, Sandyland Water Conservation visited the Yoakum County Library Plains to spread the word that Water Rocks! In the spirit of the Summer Reading theme of “Libraries Rock!” Michelle Cooper presented an outstanding literacy- and STEAM-friendly program to a group of about 30. The book by Linda Kranz “Only One You” provided a fun book talk into the uniqueness of each one of us, as well as what we can do to help conserve water. The children also discussed how water can make unique sounds. Before touring the state-of-the-art mobile water education station, the children each painted a rock to remind them of the themes.
