Glenda L. (Warren) Fariss

Services for Glenda L Farriss, 74, of Brownfield will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the 12th Street Church of Christ, Seagraves, Texas with Silas Short officiating. Burial will be in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetary at 7:00 pm., Goldthwaite, Texas. Officiating the graveside services will be Dayton House. She died Sunday, May 13, 2018, in Covenant Specialty Hospital in Lubbock. She was born March 21, 1944, in Carlsbad, California to the late William and Naomi Cole Warren. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1962, Carlsbad, NM. She married Milton Fariss December 4, 1963, in Carlsbad, NM and moved to Brownfield in 1978. She retired from Brownfield ISD after thirty-six years of service driving a school bus and working in the cafeteria. She was a member of the O’Donnell Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by son Rex Allen Fariss. Survivors include her husband of Brownfield, four sons, Kenneth of Midland, Yancy and wife Sherry Fariss of Dallas, Wayne and Julie Fariss of Deridder, Louisiana and Lance and Stephanie Fariss of Seagraves. Four sisters Joyce Gill of Lubbock, Melba Ray, and husband Carl of Grandberry, Betha Chesser of Sacramento, CA and Pat McNeil and Husband Norm of Washington; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6-7pm on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Ratliff Funeral Home of Seagraves. The family suggests memorials be made in lieu of flowers to the Pioneer Bible Translators at 2755 West Camp Wisdom Road, Dallas, Texas 75236, with a note indicating for Ministry of Yancy Fariss.
