Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Denver City Church of Christ, with Minister Bill Litton, cousin of John, officiating. Interment will follow at Denver City Memorial Cemetery.

John was born Feb. 19, 1943, to W. Carl Fulbright and Lucille Gibbs Fulbright in Seagraves, Texas, and was the middle child of five siblings. He married his beloved wife LaDonna Gressett on Feb. 2, 1972, in Levelland, Texas. John worked as the Production Supervisor of Texaco Oil Company and retired after 37 years. John greatly enjoyed time with his family and friends as well as baseball, golf, hunting and fishing. He was also on the Denver City football team who won the State Championship in 1960. He was an avid Facebook user and was known for his wit, humor and genuine personality among his friends and family. After not enjoying a few years of retirement, he went to work as a consultant for Midville Energy. John was devoted to the care of his lawn, was very competitive and loved to attend his families reunions. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carl Gene Fulbright; and a sister, Elaine Fulbright. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, LaDonna; son, Matt Fulbright of Levelland; daughter, Kimberly Thompson of Levelland; grandson, Collin Thompson; and granddaughter, Johnna Thompson, both of Friona; brother, Don and wife Alice Fulbright of Gardland, Texas; and brother, Dr. Robert Fulbright of New Haven, Conn.
