Mary Frances Kennedy Igo

Lubbock- Mary Frances Kennedy Igo, of Lubbock, passed away May 11, 2018, at her home. She was born in May of 1922 in Leonard, TX to Larmon and Maybelle Peak. Her family moved to Lubbock when she was very young. She attended school in Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1939. Mary then attended Texas Tech University and obtained her Bachelors Degree in Home Economics in 1943. She taught school briefly in Meadow, TX before becoming a full-time mother and homemaker after meeting and marrying Sabe McClain Kennedy, Jr December 21, 1946. He preceded her in death September 12, 1993. In October of 1994, she married Dorman Gunter Igo and he preceded her in death in the summer of 2010. Mary is survived by her two daughters; Marta Kennedy Gott and husband Bill,of Plano, TX , and Lori Kennedy Scott and husband Ricky, of Lubbock; five grandchildren; Brandon Gott of Plano, TX, Jeremy Gott of Dallas, TX, Meagan Scott Baker of San Antonio, Mackenzie Scott Kirkpatrick of Dallas and Morgan Scott McCall of Dallas, five great-grandchildren; Ian Gott, Knox Baker, Bowen Baker, Jaynie Baker and Graham McCall. A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Monday, May 14, 2018, at 3 pm at Resthaven Memorial Park.
