Denver City, Texas- Funeral Services for Mary Halbrooks Barron, 77, of Denver City will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in
Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jesse Garcia officiating and Rev. Harry Pittam assisting, with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. Interment will follow in Loop Cemetery.
Mary Halbrooks Barron, our precious Mother and Nana, stepped into Glory with her Savior on November 4, 2017. She was born to Filbert and Lora Bright Halbrooks on November 30. 1939 in Loop, Texas.
She met the love of her life, Burl Barron, in Lamesa and they married on May 21, 1960. They moved to Higginbotham Ranch in 1965 where they raised two daughters. They later Moved to Denver City in 1992.
Mary was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church until it’s closure and then of Trinity Baptist. She worked as a bank officer, seamstress, secretary and bookkeeper for several companies. She recently retired from the
Juvenile Probation office where she worked for seventeen years and was a great Christian influence on many children.
Mary had the most generous and loving heart and was everyone’s “Nana”. She loved spending time with her family, going on cruises and the color purple. Her favorite verse was ” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13. She and Burl loved all kids and helped as many as they could through monitoring, encouraging, and showing Christ’s love.
Mary is rejoicing in Heaven with her husband Burl, and her daughter Diann.
She is survived by her daughter Prissy and husband Terry Summers; grandchildren Ethan and wife Kelsey, and Alexis; four brothers Johnnie and Jane of Lubbock, Loyd and Kathy of Loop, Floyd of Levelland and Dwayne and Betty of Arkansas, an aunt and uncle, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends
