The Mustangs continue on their early season roll with a 54-34 win Tuesday night over Muleshoe on the Mules home court.
After the Mules grabbed a 12-11 lead at the end of the first quarter the Mustangs went on a 14-6 run in the second quarter to go up 25-18 at intermission. The defense stepped up in the third quarter limiting Muleshoe to seven points while the offense was tossing in 16 to go into the final eight minutes of play on top 41-25.
Led by Nathaniel Cruz and his 14 points, every Mustang entered the scoring column. Estevan Mendoza added eight points, Mathew De La Rosa chipped in seven, Nick Garza, Damian Gutierrez, and Darron Pacheco all tossed in four points, Everado Navarrette , Riley Boyd and Braden Galvan each had three points, and Emmanuel Zubia finished with one point.
They will continue play this weekend in the Midland Oilman Classic and will host Seagraves on Tuesday and Pecos on Friday of next week.
