Plains ISD board approves order to save money on bond

TownTalk News received the following Press Release from PISD Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Howard.

At the regularly scheduled board meeting last night, the Plains ISD Board unanimously approved an order authorizing the issuance of unlimited tax refunding of bonds. If the parameters are met and the bonds are refunded, the district will save at least $1 million by taking advantage of lower interest rates. The refunding does not extend the maturity date; the bonds will still be paid in full in 2030.
