PRESS RELEASE: YOUNG CONSERVATIVES OF TEXAS ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENT OF SENATE CANDIDATE, MIKE CANON

by Eric

MIDLAND, TEXAS—Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) has endorsed Mike Canon, candidate for Texas Senate District 31.

“It is truly an honor to have the endorsement of the Young Conservatives of Texas,” said Canon. “For years, YCT has fought against liberal policies and for conservative values and won. With so much at stake in this election, it is encouraging to have the support of one of Texas’ most reputable conservative organizations.”

This endorsement comes just days after Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, the state’s leading fiscal watchdog for the state legislature, endorsed Mike Canon over incumbent, Kel Seliger.

“Mr. Seliger has a failing record of fighting for conservative values,” Canon said. “He was the only Republican in the senate to vote against property tax protection, and he continues to receive poor scores from the state’s top conservative organizations. It’s time we elect true conservative leaders to represent West Texas who will stand up for our values.”

Mike Canon is a native West Texan and a graduate of Midland High School. Mike previously served as Mayor of Midland and At Large Seat on the Midland City Council.

Mike is an active parishioner at St. Ann’s Church and serves in various capacities in his Parish. Mike and his wife, Judy, have four children, Michael, Stephen, Christopher, and Elizabeth, and eight beautiful, smart and talented grandchildren.

Mike has been endorsed by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, Texas Right to Life, and Texas Home School Coalition.
