Shirley Louise Tredaway, 83, Midland, Texas, passed away on March 28, 2017.

Shirley was born in Fisk, Texas in Coleman County on November 26, 1933, to Oran Haney and Anna Lou McQueen. She received her GED and later obtained her Associates Degree in Law Enforcement. She attended the Law Enforcement Academy located at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas and became a licensed peace officer.

Shirley wed Aaron Claude (A.C.) Tredaway, Jr. on November 25, 1950 and they were married for 52 yrs.

Shirley worked as a dispatcher for the Denver City Police Department for ten years and worked as a dispatcher and jailer for the Yoakum County Sheriff’s Department for over ten years. She enjoyed painting, bowling, board and card games, antique shopping and spending time with family and friends.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Tredaway; son, Alan Bryan; two sisters, Muriel Metts and Faye Lynn; one brother, Carl Ray Haney, and her parents.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Kathy Robinson of Midland, granddaughters, Amy Cochran and husband Chad of Hale Center, Texas; Allison Anderson and husband Daniel of Franklin, Texas; Rebecca Tredaway of Lubbock, Texas; Lori Benninghoff and husband Clinton of Midland, Texas and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, March 30th at Ellis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00am Friday, March 31 at 7 Cities Church at 5110 W. Illinois, Midland, Texas with Rev. Curtis Benninghoff officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow Cemetery in Meadow, Texas at 2:00pm.
