Funeral services for Shonna Renee Cowen, age 53 of Weatherford, Texas will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at West Tate Church of Christ in Brownfield, Texas with Brother Ernest Smith and Truman Hayes assisting. Burial will follow at Terry County Cemetery. The family will greet visitors at West Tate Church of Christ at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole, Texas.
Mrs. Cowen was born July 7, 1963 in Lubbock, Texas to Frances Loriene Jeter (Coor) and Charles Lee Dyer. She had moved from Odessa, Texas and lived in Weatherford for four years. Shonna worked as a paramedic for twenty-two years and loved saving lives. In her spare time she enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and her horses and dogs, but she especially loved her children, grandchildren and family.
Shonna Cowen passed away July 29, 2016 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Tarrant County. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Dyer and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She is survived by two sons, Shane Cowen and wife Christia of Weatherford, Texas and Shay Cowen and wife Kristi of Odessa, Texas; two daughters, Shelly Cowen of Weatherford, Texas
and Shanda Bidlack and husband Melvin of Odessa, Texas; her mother, Fran Jeter and husband Delbert of Brownfield, Texas; one brother, Tony Dyer of Kansas; one sister, Tasha Gibson and husband Tommy of Arkansas; and ten grandchildren.
