15282116Valerie D’Ann Doshier, 30, of Amarillo died Tuesday, April 12, 2016.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23. 2016 in Hillside Christian Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Valerie was born May 4, 1985, in Amarillo to David and D’Ann Doshier. She graduated from Vega High School and earned a BA from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.

Valerie was an artist and had painted murals and done commissioned artwork. She lived and traveled all over the world, making friends wherever she went. She had a heart for the homeless and often gave them all the money in her wallet.

Survivors include her husband, Nathan Evans of Amarillo; her mother, D’Ann Swain of Amarillo; her father, David Doshier and wife Marianne of Amarillo; a brother, Travis Doshier and fiancée Becky Balatakis of Rock Springs, Wyo.; a stepsister, Nicole Houle and husband Brent of Canyon, and their daughters, Ella and Sophia; and her loyal companion, her dog, Aspen.

The family suggests memorials be to Faith City Mission, 401 S.E. Second Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101; Chalice Abbey, 2717 Stanley St., Suite A, Amarillo, TX 79109; or to Panhandle Paws of Hope, P.O. Box 2525, Amarillo, TX 79105.
