Keynote Address: Angie Goodman- Owner of ACG Cotton Marketing LLC since 1996

Angie Goodman began her career at the USDA classing office from 1978 to 1983. She worked for a small cotton company in Lubbock for about 10 years marketing cotton to the U.S. Domestic Mills. Angie started her own business, ACG Cotton Marketing LLC in 1996 and has operated it for the past 20 years, selling cotton for export to many different countries.  She has been involved in marketing cotton to Niche markets as well as offering opportunities to growers to contract cotton. She served as president of The Lubbock Cotton Exchange in 2003, has served as a director of The Texas Cotton Association for 2 terms, and is currently First Vice President of TCA. She will serve as TCA’s president beginning in April of this year.  During her years in the cotton marketing business we have had many changes in marketing practices. Angie will address the different methods of marketing cotton and answer questions.

8:45 a.m. United States Department of Labor Wage and Hour – Migrant and Seasonal Farm Workers- Jimmy Duenes/LD Harper

The Wage and Hour Division was created with the enactment of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) of 1938. The Division is responsible for the administration and enforcement of a wide range of laws which collectively cover virtually all private and State and local government employment. The Division is comprised of a nationwide staff of investigators, supervisors, and technical and clerical employees responsible for enforcing FLSA, Government Contracts labor standards statutes, the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act, the Employee Polygraph Protection Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 also provided certain additional enforcement responsibilities to be undertaken by the Wage and Hour Division staff.

Eron Phillips is a senior staff member of the Tax Department currently assigned to the Wichita Falls office. She joined the agency in 2013 after working for 5 years in retail and commercial banking. She has extensive experience in various types of unemployment investigations and payroll verification audits.

She has a BA from Angelo State University. In addition to her career with the agency she is the mother of two busy daughters ages 16 & 10 and wife to an Army First Sergeant who just recently returned from deployment.

Field Technician for the South Plains Underground Water Conserva9on District since October, 2013. Responsibili9es include Aquifer level measurements, water well site inspec9ons, manage deteriorated and abandoned wells, GIS Mapping and data bases of District Wells. Re9red State Director for the Texas Coopera9ve Inspec9on Program – an Agency of the Texas Department of Agriculture, close to 30 years.
