Yoakum County Commissioners Court May 1

The Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, May 1, where they addressed a short agenda.

In the first item on the agenda the Court unanimously approved to pay County bills that totaled $119,070.23 and Medical facility bills that totaled $168,613.71.

Troy Scott, Precinct #2 Justice of the Peace, was in attendance asking for additional autopsy funds. The Court unanimously approved an additional $2,000 for Judge Scott.

Judge Scott was also requesting funds from his Technology fund for the purchase of a handheld radio. The Commissioners unanimously approved $1,000 for the purchase of this radio.

In the next item the Court unanimously acknowledged donations to the Yoakum County Libraries from the Yoakum County Federal Credit Union, Warren New, Denver City Pharmacy, B.F. Rowe, and Newell Squyres for the summer reading program.

The Court also unanimously approved to adopt the Budget Calendar for FY2018.

There were no request for any road crossing permit application, no requests for the disposal of county equipment, three line item transfers, and on Soil Conservation Request from Commissioner Ray Marion for Josh Parker in Section 698.

Commissioner Marion had no updates on the new Denver City Community Building project.

Commissioners Woody Lindsey, Ray Marion, Tommy Box, and Tim Addison along with Judge Jim Barron were all present.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, May 8, at 10 am in the County Courthouse.
