#7 Lady Cubs and Cubs look to improve in district

The Cubs and #7 Lady Cubs got to take off a night off basketball Tuesday as they had their bi-week. Of course the Lady Cubs are still undefeated at 7-0 (17-1 overall) in district competition and the Cubs bounced back from back-to-back losses beating Friona 76-40.

Both teams will host Muleshoe tomorrow night and the Lady Cubs look to keep their winning streak alive and stay undefeated in district. The first time these two teams met up was right before Christmas break with Brownfield giving Muleshoe a 58-20 loss.

Of course Muleshoe is one of only two teams in district that have kept the Lady Cubs from scoring more than 60 points, the other was Dimmitt when the Brownfield upended them 54-19. However, the Lady Cubs continue to dominate the board with an average 76 points game in district.

The 4-2 (10-7 overall) Cubs have an opportunity to keep winning and tomorrow night they will get that chance. When the Cubs traveled to Muleshoe they came back home with a 19 point win 65-46 and tomorrow they face them at home with a rowdy group of fans.

The Cubs played three games in row in district that were very tight games. They took down Denver City in overtime 72-65 and then had the back-to-back losses to Littlefield 45-37 and Lamesa 78-69. Look for the Cubs to use their close games as a tool to win big tomorrow night.
