ACES Springs into SPRING!

by admin

ACES has a great March planned for the citizens of Terry County. As we mourn the passing of ACES Executive Director and Founder, Charlyce Arnold, it is wonderful to see that her legacy will continue to be honored by the wonderful programs of ACES. The best way to continue to honor Charlyce and the great work she did is by supporting the activities and programs of ACES, and supporting her desire to enable area students to continue their education by providing scholarships.

On Tuesday, March 3rd, the month kicks off with Rev. Bruce Cargile and his program on Organic Gardening. Come learn how you can prepare your garden to become a delight for all who feast from it. Spring is the time to prepare so you can harvest delicious fruits and vegetables all summer and feed your inner soul, as well as your tummy! Organic gardening can be good for you and your family. Be sure to be there to learn how you can get started in this fun activity.

Tuesday, March 10th will have the Celebrity Reading Program. With the generous support of the Brownfield YMCA, every child in attendance will receive a book of their very own to take home. Brownfield High School Student Council members will be the Celebrity Readers for the evening. Bring your kiddos in their pajamas, with blankets and pillows and let them enjoy this great evening that encourages reading in our kids.

Spring Break in area schools will be March 16 – 20. As a result of this, ACES will not have any classes during Spring Break week.

On Tuesday, March 24th, Brownfield Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lorena Valencia will be on hand to teach a great new craft to those in attendance. We already know what a great organizer and supporter of Brownfield and Terry County Lorena is. Now come and see another of her many talents.

The month winds down with the monthly Evening of Poetry and Music which will be held on Tuesday, March 31st. If you love music or love poetry, this is the night for you. You can come and share your talents with others, or just come sit back and listen. This is a great night for new performers to get used to performing in front of a friendly crowd. Don’t miss this fun event.

All activities begin at 7 p.m. and everyone is welcome. This is your time to come see what ACES is all about. Remember, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO IN BROWNFIELD!!
