PLAINS…..Funeral Mass for Angel Morales ,82, of Plains will be celebrated Tuesday, March  19, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Heriberto Mercado officiating.  Interment will follow in the Plains Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City.

Angel Morales was born in Zacatecas, Mexico, on August 2, 1936.  He transitioned to his eternal life peacefully surrounded by family on March 16, 2019.  He married his loving wife, Maria, on January 27, 1968, and together they endeavored to create a loving home. They left their home in Mexico with dreams to provide an education and future for their children. Angel’s hands worked tirelessly all of his life to provide for and raise his family, whom he loved and protected fiercely. His work ethic undeniable, he labored diligently and without fail as a mechanic, an oil field derrick, and CDL driver. He was never happier than when surrounded by his “tribe.”  Angel was a man of few words, but one of uncompromising character and integrity.  One of Angel’s greatest joys was being Abo to his 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  He tenderly prepared meals and invited his family to gather around the table.  He taught his kids to live with courage and to be valiant in the face of adversity.

Although grieving, his children rejoice that he is home in the arms of the Father.  He is survived by his faithful companion Maria; five daughters and one son: Rosa Ferrel and husband, Oscar, of San Antonio; Martha Reyes and husband, Francisco, of Amarillo; Mary Villalon and husband, Silverio, of Amarillo; Laura Kunkel and husband, Stuart, of Odessa; Kristian Morales of Odessa; and Juan Morales and wife Maribel of Cibolo.  He is also survived by his brother, Trinidad Morales of Zacatecas and an abundance of precious nieces and nephews.
