In one of the largest classes to ever graduate from Brownfield Education Center, thirty students walked across the stage and received their diplomas. These diplomas are the very same as if they had graduated from BHS, and carry the same value, as far as considering yourself a high school graduate and going on to further your education.
One student, Joshua Gonzales, was awarded the Jeremy Shedd Scholarship from Police Chief Tony Serbantez and Mayor Tom Hesse. This scholarship is in honor of a former Brownfield Police Officer who lost his life.
Chris Edwards, Principal of BEC presented the graduates to BISD Superintendent Chris Smith, who then presented their diplomas, with Tim Swaringen, Vice-President of the School Board.
Not pictured are Sarah Elizabeth Franco, and Leonor Gonzales.
