The Brownfield High School Cheerleaders are heading to State Spirit Competition in Fort Worth. Texas UIL opened up competitive cheer a few years ago, and the BHS Cheer Squad jumped on it.
The team left on Wednesday morning, and will begin their competition at 12:04 p.m. on Thursday. The 3A D1 finals will begin at 5:01 p.m. on Thursday, with the Awards Ceremony taking place at 7:30 p.m. The event takes place at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
The team worked and earned the money for this trip.

BISD Superintendent Chris Smith stated, “Our cheerleaders are such an important part of our spirit and game experience. They have worked very hard for this opportunity and we are excited to cheer them on. We are thankful for their hard work, and the dedication from the sponsors who spend so many hours with our cheerleaders. Good luck to them.”
