BHS holds Annual Athletic Banquet

Some of the district’s highest honors were handed out on Monday night, May 9, at the Annual BHS Athletic Banquet. A great crowd enjoyed a dinner from River Smith’s Catfish and Chicken and then headed to the gym where the awards were presented.

After an invocation given by Gabi Fields, Athletic Director Aarrhon Flores began the awards.

Recognized as Academic Athlete Scholars of the Year were Tia Johnson and Thomas Brisendine. Tia competed in volleyball and basketball. Thomas was a tennis player. Both are seniors this year. This is an award that comes with hard work and dedication. Congratulations to these two!

The top awards of the night were awarded last.

Mr. Cub – Zarius Garcia

Zarius has been a multi-sport athlete throughout his high school career and has earned numerous post season honors. Zarius has been a good student and a great leader on and off the field.

Miss Cub – Gabi Fields

Gabi has also been a multi-sport athlete. She has competed at the highest level, leading her Lady Cub Basketball Team to the State Championship in 2021. Gabi is an outstanding student, and like Zarius, a leader on and off the court.
