BHS Spirit of the Plains Band in UIL contest on Saturday

by admin

The Brownfield High School Spirit of the Plains band will be performing on Saturday, October 16 at 6:30 p.m. Lowery Field, at Plains Capital Park. This is the UIL Marching Band Contest.

The BHS Band has come a long way this year and the students are working hard for this contest.

First year at BHS Band Director Will Burks is excited with the progress the band has made. “I am so glad to be here in Brownfield where band has such a storied history. The Cub Band has worked so hard to put the pandemic behind us. Even when the days grew long and the time grew short, kids who were in band before COVID have stepped up and worked to make the whole band better. Of course, we are always chasing the top rating, but this year in Brownfield, we have top kids and that is the most important thing.”

The band will be leaving from the Temporary Brownfield Highs School Band Hall at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Make plans to attend the marching contest and support the BHS Band.
