BMS Cheerleaders earn honors

by admin

The Brownfield Middle School Cheerleaders returned home from camp with many honors in their hands.

According to Sponsor Deadra Dorris, they earn 3rd place Camp Dance, 1st place Camp Cheer and the Most Improved Squad.

The girls were at the United Cheerleading Association camp in Amarillo.

Co-Sponsor with Deadra is Samantha Escalon.

Deadra stated, “Every year, Mrs. Escalon and I watch all the cheerleaders and award them with our own special honors at the end of the week. Some are funny. But most pertain to things that happened at camp.” This year’s honors are:

Abelina – Very Versitile award for being willing to trade spots, trade stunt jobs, or even just helping in any way she can.

Azanae – Energetic Enthusiast award for being energetic and enthusiastic in all aspects of camp.

Aniya – Doublemint Base #1 award for Mrs. Dorris having such a hard time telling her and Nina apart, and also the Fantastic Facials award for having such good facial expression during the dance without even realizing it.

Nina – The other recipient of the Doublemint Base award and the Triple A (Awesome Attitude Award) Award for having such an awesome attitude throughout camp.

Danalynn – Fearless Flyer and Faller award for her absolutely fearless flying and falling during stunts.

Jessie – Carebear for sharing, caring and other Carebear qualities. She also receives the Comic Relief Award. She could always make the group laugh.

Caylee – Get It Girl! award because she could pick up every routine so quickly. She also earned the Terrific Toe Touches award for obvious reasons.

Braelynn – Fascinating Flexibility Award. (Mrs. Dorris said, “If you have never seen this girl stretch, you need to!)

Bayli – Super Base Award. She is an amazing base and can control any stunt from the base.

Cute and fun awards, but how exciting to see our girls perform so very well! We are continuing to grow great Cubs in Brownfield!
