BRMC Implementing “No Visitor” Policy

by admin

From BRMC Administrator, Jerry Jasper:

BRMC is going to a “No Visitor” policy on our hospital inpatients starting today, Tuesday, March 31, 2020. The exceptions to this rule are:

  • Adult family members of end of life patients
  • One coach or partner for delivering mothers
  • One parent or guardian for pediatric patients (a patient under 17 years old)

Each visitor that meets an exception must be in good health and symptom free. Visitors must enter through the ER waiting room. No one under the age of 18 years old will be permitted into the hospital unless they are seeking medical attention or have been emancipated as an adult and here in a parental capacity.

All visitors, BRMC employees, and Government employees on official business will have their temperature checked at entry points to the hospital, ER, and clinic. Anyone with a temperature greater than 100.4 will not be allowed to enter and encouraged to be Covid-19 screened and/or recommended to see their Primary Care Physician.

One visitor in good health will be allowed with a patient visiting the ER, but the visitor will be asked to leave if the patient is admitted into the hospital as an inpatient, and they don’t meet the inpatient visitor exceptions.

We apologize for any inconveniences that these changes to the visitor policy might create, but we are trying to keep our employees, patients, and community safe during this pandemic.
