Brownfield ISD Board approves new calendar

The Brownfield ISD Board of Trustees approved changes to the 2021-2022 calendar at a special called meeting on Friday, October 29.

BISD Superintendent Chris Smith stated, ” We had additional days built into our school calendar, and we still need to save some of those days. But what we decided to do was to give our teachers and students some much needed time off. So we have modified our calendar to reflect this.”

The newly revised calendar has some four day weekends built in now. The first of those coming on Friday, November 5 and Monday, November 8.

There is also now a Friday, February 4 holiday and Monday, February 7 was already a Staff Development Day for Faculty. (This falls on Super Bowl Sunday Weekend)

The last four day weekend added to the calendar is in April with Friday, the 15th and Monday, the 18th being holidays. This Friday was already a Good Friday holiday, with the following Monday being added.

The district still has an extra five days built in, should they be needed for snow days, etc.
