A Brownfield police officer was arrested on Tuesday, August 4, and charged with tampering with physical evidence, based on an incident that happened back on June 29.
It was reported by the Brownfield PD that the officer, Perla Depoyster, was off-duty at the time of the incident.
35-year-old Depoyster was released from the Terry County Law Enforcement Center after posting $5,000 bond.
In a statement from the Texas Department of Public Safety, it was stated:
“On August 4, 2020, Perla Depoyster was arrested by the Texas Rangers. Depoyster was charged with Tampering with physical evidence. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on June 29, 2020. Depoyster was booked into the Terry County Jail. Depoyster is a Police Officer with the Brownfield Police Department, and was off duty at the time of the incident.
“This is an active criminal investigation and no further details will be released. ”
