Not knowing for sure what to expect, the organizers of the Brownfield Works! Job Fair are calling the event a success.
“We had over 25 potential employers on hand, as well as over 50 individuals looking for a job. I am pleased with the event,” stated BIDCorp Director Brian Brisendine who was one of the organizers of the event.
The Wednesday, November 17 event was held at the Brownfield Middle School Commons, with BISD Superintendent Chris Smith one of the organizers. Also helping was Workforce Solutions of the South Plains, as well as the Brownfield Chamber of Commerce.
Brisendine stated, “I would like to make this an annual event. Several employers commented that they had seen some really strong applicants come through. There were even some job offers made on site.”
Several BHS students also came through checking out the job market.
“It was a great first effort,” stated Brisendine. “We look for an even better event next year.”
