Carolyn Jane Hargrove Hooten , 77 years old, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away July 17, 2022. She was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on October 30, 1944. Carolyn graduated from Brownfield High School . The was married to Gail Hargrove from June 5, 1964 until his passing August 16 , 1996 , and then to Bob Hooten from June 22 , 2007 until her passing on July 17 , 2022 .
She worked as a secretary for Brownfield Church of Christ, and then for Book Binding and Laminating . She was a member of South Plains Church of Christ. She had a passion for cross stitching and putting together puzzles, traveling, but most of all family.
She survived by her husband Bob Hooton of Lubbock, Tx, his son Bobby and wife Tammy Hooten and their family of Lubbock Tx, his daughter Sharon husband Chris Mauldin and their family of Artesia Nm, daughter Lesley Ann Pendergrass of Abilene, Tx. Granddaughter Brooke Wade and husband Devin Wade their son’s Tayden Freddy Lee Wade and Maverick Arlo Wade of Midland, Tx , grandson Dakota Coursey and wife Tammy Coursey, sister Debbie Kirk and husband John Kirk of Lubbock, TX
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. A celebration of life memorial service will occur Friday, July 22, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
Serving as pallbearers are Devin Wade, Charles Coffman, Stetson Coffman, Bobby Hooten III, Brock Hooten, Brian Shanley, John Kirk and Benjamin Hooten.
