Funeral Services for Celestino Reynero Garcia will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019, at 10:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Brownfield with Msgr. Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial will follow at the Meadow Cemetery under the direction of the Brownfield Funeral Home.

A Rosary will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 20 and 21, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Celestino passed away at his home in Brownfield on July 17, 2019. He was born March 17, 1944, in Georgetown, Texas to Robert and Magdelena Garcia (SR.). He married the love of his life, Cirilda “Morena” DeLaRosa, 54 years ago on June 18, 1965.

Celestino is proceeded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. Celestino is survived by his wife Cirilda “Morena” Garcia and children: Delia Alaniz and husband Daniel from Lubbock, Mary Alaniz and husband Ricky from Lubbock, Celestino Garcia Jr. and wife Margaret from Lubbock, Esteban Garcia and Mary Ann Gonzales from Brownfield, Jimmy Garcia and Cynthia Jacquez from Brownfield, Gilberto Garcia and wife Becky from Brownfield, 17 Grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, 6 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Celestino worked as a farmer all his life until he retired in 2015. He enjoyed listening to and recording Christian music, fishing, collecting guns, watching cowboys, woodworking, and keeping his yard and plants looking beautiful year-round. He was dedicated to the Cursillo Movement, a Minister of Communion at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, and the Ministry for the prison. But above all, he especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

His favorite sayings: “De Colores”, “Great Day in the Morning” and “Man”. But look out on his birthday, he would wake up singing, “Happy Birthday to me”.
