The 8th Annual Charles Orum Scholarship Reverse Drawing Fundraiser is set for Saturday, July 10, at Whitehouse Parker Tasting Room. There will be a party tent set up outside for your comfort.

A steak dinner, cooked by Jerry Weaver and crew, will be served with all the trimmings.

Tickets are available at the Terry County Vet Hospital for a chance at a Garden/Utility Kubota Tractor. Tickets are $150 each. 250 tickets sold. Last ticket drawn wins the tractor.

Each ticket will get two people in and a meal for two, plus a ticket in the drawing.

There will be “investment opportunities” during the drawing. If you have never been to a Reverse Drawing, you will find that it is lots of fun. Last 10 tickets left, have option of being auctioned off. Dr. Jim Ridenour said, “You are not guaranteed to win, but you are guaranteed to have fun.

There will be a silent auction going on, as well. Local businesses have donated items for the auction.

Charles Orum was a leader in this community. He was very eager to help kids in Stock Show. He was active in all aspects of FFA and 4H. Charles also served on School Board. He seldom missed any event. He was a larger than life figure. He has been gone from us for about 10 years now.

All Terry County kids active in stock show are eligible. They must also be active in their community, be a good student, and planning on going on to college or trade school. Scholarship applications are available at the Terry County Vet Hospital. The scholarships are awarded at the Terry County Stock Show.

The group has given four $10,000 scholarships in the past, however last year the organization gave five $8,000 scholarships. They are hoping to give even more this year.

Get out and support this great fundraiser. Even if you can’t purchase a ticket, consider a donation to the Charles Orum Scholarship Fund.
