Mayor Geronimo Gonzales proclaimed June as a month to clean up Brownfield in a proclamation signed on Thursday, May 28. The Mayor and all of the City Leaders are urging citizens to do their part to clean up around their area and others they see needing a little work.
Mayor Gonzales stated, “We just think it is about time to spend a little effort and energy on cleaning up some of our eyesores and some of the messy areas around town. We are so proud of Brownfield and we want everyone else to see the beauty we see when we look at this town and the fine people who made the choice to make Brownfield their home.”

WHEREAS, the City of Brownfield is proud of its natural resources and its neighborhoods and seeks to protect and improve our community through the action of citizens, schools, government, and businesses working together to keep our City clean;
WHEREAS, the City of Brownfield recognizes the important commitment to improve the appearance of Brownfield through litter prevention, beautification, and solid waste management initiatives, and motivate everyone in our communities to become stewards of the environment;
WHEREAS, the City of Brownfield strives to improve the quality of life in our community through enhanced community awareness, work to keep our environment clean and free of debris, beautify our neighborhoods and public spaces, and instill pride and a sense of ownership in our community;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor, Geronimo M. Gonzales, do hereby proclaim clean-up days in Brownfield and call upon our citizens to join in this endeavor and support the efforts to clean-up your area and help us renew our commitment to building a better community today for future generations.
