Clois Crawford

Lubbock- Clois Crawford passed on July 9, 2018, to be with her Lord and Savior. Graveside service will be at the Plains Cemetery in Plains, TX on Friday, July 13th, at 10:00 a.m., under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at the Neil Chapel at Carillon on Saturday, July 14th at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Powell officiating.

Clois was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Ballinger, TX to Anna and Bronaugh Poindexter. She was a graduate of Bradshaw High School and attended Texas Tech University. She is preceded in death by her husband, Corance, whom she married on Dec. 24th of 1944 in Charleston, MO. They had been married 70 years. She is survived by son Stan Crawford and his wife, Del, grandson, Robert, all of Marshall, TX, daughter Cindy Crawford of Fort Davis and grandchildren, Michael Crawford of Debrecen, Charles Nunn of Austin, TX, Courtney Crawford Maturell of Ashville, NC.

Clois was a long time member of the Lubbockview Christian Church where she served on the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship, Circle 111, and a longtime member of Keystone Sunday School Class, CBS Bible Study, Heritage Study Club and Phi Upsilon Omega Alumni Chapter. Clois worked several years as a Coronary Care Nurse and later helped Crawford with his business, State Insurance Agency.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be sent to the Plains Cemetery in Plains, TX or to The Carillon Foundation @ 1717 Norfolk Ave. Lubbock, TX 79416.
