Commissioners Court Meets November 28; Sets Salaries for County Auditor and Assistants

The Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, November 28, where they addressed a very short agenda.

In their first item the Court unanimously approved the payment of $83,347.77 in county bills and $154,642.28 in medically related bills against the County and directed their payment.

The Commissioners also unanimously approved the appointment of Kristi Downs to the child welfare board.

They also unanimously approved an order of John A. Didway, District Judge in the 121st District Court of Yoakum County, Texas appointing and setting salaries for Auditor and Auditor Assistants for observation and inclusion in the minutes of Commissioners Court. Darinda McWhirter is the County Auditor and her First Assistant is Bellen Smelser while Ashlee Esty serves as her Assistant Auditor.

The Court also unanimously approved a proposal for a boiler vent project. The work includes asbestos removal and abatement as well as other items to repair the vent. The total cost of the work will be $29,982.

There were no request for disposal of county equipment, two line item transfers, and no Soil Conservation request.

Commissioners Woody Lindsey and Ray Marion reported that they were expecting concrete footings for the new Denver City Community Building would take place this week.

Commissioners Woody Lindsey, Ray Marion, Ty Earl Powell, and Tim Addison along with Judge Jim Barron were all in attendance. The next meeting will be at 10 am on Monday, December 5.
