At the Cubs powerlifting meet held at the Cub Fieldhouse on Saturday, February 20, both the Cubs and Lady Cubs were a power house. They were there in force, helping each other, encouraging each other and cheering each other on. It was a great sight to see. All Cub Powerlifters are coached by Coach Jacob Perez.
Perez said, “I am so very proud of our progress. We just didn’t know what this season would look like. After COVID stopped us last year, and then having no summer workouts, we just didn’t know what to expect. The boys and girls both came in mornings and afternoons and worked hard to improve themselves daily.”

Perez stated, “We have focused on getting better with every lift and better every week. We work hard on setting new Personal Records each week. We work hard on getting our totals better each week. The guys come in after football offseason and working so hard there, and just get right after the work in powerlifting without missing a beat. This has been such a great group to work with. They work so hard every single day. I am so proud.”
Girls Regional will be at Kermit on March 6. Boys Regional will be at Sundown on March 13.
We are proud of you Cubs!
