United States:

  • Total infections: 2,422,312 (Up 40,943)
  • Total Recoveries: 663,562 (Up 7,401)
  • Total U.S. Deaths: 124,415 (Up 2,436)
  • Current mortality rate in U.S. is 5.1% (Down .1%)
  • Most new cases reported in a single day since the pandemic began
  • The CDC has announced that there is preliminary evidence that up to ten cases go undiagnosed for every one case found. The CDC states that early in the pandemic lack of testing supplies and contact tracing could have led to numerous cases going undiagnosed.

Texas: 

  • Total Texas Cases: 134,558 (Up 6,426)
  • Most new cases reported in a single day in Texas since the outbreak began, beats previous record set yesterday
  • 74,496 Recovered (Up 1,598)
  • Deaths: 2,317 (Up 47)
  • Texas mortality rate is 1.7% (Down .1%)
  • 243 Texas counties reporting active cases (Up 1)
  • 4,739 lab confirmed COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized (Up 350)
  • 12,597 total hospital beds available in Texas, 1,322 ICU beds available 
  • 4.64 per 1,000 people in Texas have contracted COVID-19 (Up 0.22)
  • Governor Abbott states that he will not move the reopening phases for Texas any further at this time
  • Bexar, Dallas, Harris and Travis county hospitals are now banned from performing elective procedures to ensure beds are kept available for COVID patients

Regional:

  • 1,795 cases in Lubbock (Up 130)
  • 51 deaths from COVID-19 in Lubbock (No change)
  • 35 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Lubbock county (Up 2)
  • 765 recovered in Lubbock County (Up 63)
  • There are more active than recovered cases in Lubbock county at this time
  • 2,380 COVID-19 cases in the South Plains (Up 159)
  • 1,072 cases recovered on the South Plains (Up 80)
  • 16 diagnosed cases in Terry county (No change)
  • 13 Terry county cases recovered
