United States:

  • Total infections: 337,933 (Up 194,878 since Monday March 30th)
  • 17,582 recovered (Up 8,354 since Friday March 30th)
  • 9,653 deaths (Up 7,122 since Monday April 3)
  • Current mortality rate in U.S. is 2.9% (up 1.2% since Monday March 30th)
  • U.S. mortality rate is trending up, despite increased testing criteria to find more cases
  • CDC now recommends all citizens wear a mask while in public or interacting with others

Texas: 

  • 152 Texas counties reporting cases (Up 34 since Monday March 30th)
  • No longer able to report community spread by county due to multiple reporting agencies and differing definitions by agency/county
  • Deaths: 140 (Up 102 since Monday March 30th)
  • Total Texas Cases: 7,294 (Up 4,461 since Monday March 30th)
  • Texas mortality rate is 1.9% (Up 0.6% since Monday March 30th)
  • Texas mortality rate continues to trend up

Regional:

  • 154 cases in Lubbock (up 103 since Monday March 30th)
  • 78 of the Lubbock cases are related to nursing homes
  • 5 deaths in Lubbock county (up 4 since Monday March 30th)
  • 21 cases recovered in Lubbock
  • 186 confirmed cases on the South Plains (Up 116 since Monday March 30th)
  • 4 diagnosed cases in Terry county
  • 1 Terry county case recovered
  • 2 of the Lubbock cases worked full time in Terry County, but live and were diagnosed in Lubbock.
  • CORRECTION: The two new cases reported that are possibly linked to Terry county are still under investigation by the health department in Lubbock. Unable to confirm if they live out of Terry county at this time.
