Denver City Council Meets March 21

The City Council met in regular session on Monday night, March 21, where they took care of one item on the agenda in 10 minutes.

The one item concerned the sale of the West 75’ of Lot 22, Block 7, Original Town of Denver City (aka Town Crier Lot, NE corner of N. Main and E. 2nd St.) to Bobby Trent.

The land in question is the area on the southeast corner of Main Street and 2nd street adjacent to the laundromat and is approximately a 40 by 75 foot area. Trent had previous purchased the lot just north of the Chamber of Commerce building from the Baptist Church which joins the current lot in question.

A motion was made to sale the property and passed unanimously.

The Council then approved the payment of manual bills of $140,504.64 and regular bills of $114,098.21.

Council members present were Joan Breith, Ronald Weir, Robert Hanneman, Barbara Qualls, Dalphene Benson, and Keith Mensch along with Mayor Tommy Hicks.

The next meeting will be on April 4 starting at 7 pm.
