It wasn’t their prettiest win by any means, but when all the dust had settled the Fillies left the Dag with a hard earned 25-16, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19 four set win over visiting Idalou.

The match started with the Fillies in total control and looking at an easy sweep in sets as they jumped out to 9-3 lead that eventually grew to 17-7. However the Lady Cats wouldn’t go away and starting chipping away at their 10 point deficit cutting the Fillie lead to 21-16. A Marley Jordan kill followed by a Lexi Ivy ace along with two service winners gave the Fillies the first set 25-16.

The Fillies had a hard time getting into a rhythm in the second set falling behind early 9-4 and 11-7. Marley toed the line and brought the Fillies back to trailing 11-9. After trading points Karley Moore served and aided by some good defense from Moraima Villegas helped to pull the Fillies back to a 14-13 deficit. Once again Idalou responded going back up 18-14.

Madison McLeroy serves gave the Fillies four straight points and a tied second set at 18-18. With the score tied once again at 20-20 Moraima served to give the Fillies a 23-20 lead. In the third set the Fillies jump out to a quick 5-2 lead before Idalou responded with a 5-0 run that put them up 7-5. Idalou capitalized off the burst to build a 13-8 lead that soon grew to 20-13. The Fillies were able to cut the lead to 23-19 but Idalou won two of the next three points for a 25-20 third set and extend the match to a crucial fourth set.

It was looking like the fourth set would be another nail bitter with both teams trading points and leads. Idalou was up 4-2 when the Fillies tied things up at 4-4 and 5-5. After that last tie the Fillies capitalized on some Idalou errors and some pinpoint serving by Lexi Ivy they jumped out to a 10-5 lead. Service points by Moraima, Marley, and Karley gave the Fillies some breathing room with a 17-10 lead.
