The Brownfield Edward Jones office, and Mike Speed, Financial Advisor are happy to welcome Marshall Martell to town as a new Financial Advisor in the office.
Marshall is excited to be in Brownfield. “I see lots of potential for growth here and I have really enjoyed meeting the people,” stated Marshall. He is a 2013 graduate of Lubbock High School. “I went to South Plains College for my basics and worked my way through, then I went to Texas Tech and earned a Bachelors of Economics and a minor in General Business.”
Marshall stated that he knew for a while he wanted to be in finance. “It just interested me and I wanted to know about that area.” Just through a chance meeting with an individual, he found his way to an Edward Jones office and went through the hiring process.
“It is quite a process to be hired by Edward Jones. I applied on January 20, 2020, and went through a three month, 10 step process. I was hired by Edward Jones in mid-March of 2020. A week later, Edward Jones put a freeze on hiring, due to the pandemic.”
There are many factors which Marshall thinks are unique to Edward Jones and that make Edward Jones a great place to work.
“They are such a family company. I don’t have kids now, but it is nice to know that I could take off to attend my kids’ events, when that time comes. They offer a great work/life balance. We are allowed to do things in our own office pretty much how we want and in a way that works within the culture of the community,” stated Marshall.
Marshall will be moving to Brownfield. He hopes to become really involved in the community. “I want to be in the civic clubs, maybe coach Little League or Little Dribblers. I want to find my church home here. I want to meet the people in the community and get to know families and just really know the community of Brownfield.”
He said we will definitely be seeing him at the football and basketball games in the area.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve Brownfield and and I looking forward to really being a part of this community. I feel like this is an absolute blessing to me. I can’t wait to put names and faces together and really know the people here.”
Mike Speed is also plenty pumped to have Marshall in the office. “This is my 26th year in this office. I have seen lots in my years here. When I met Marshall and went through training him, I knew he was the guy for this office. He makes a great first impression and he is one of the most sincere individuals I have met. I know he will be an asset to Brownfield.”
Marshall is joining Mike, and Senior Branch Office Administrator Kristi Phillips in the Brownfield office.
