Fillies Send Three to Regional Tennis Tournament

After two days of district tennis competition the Fillies emerged with three players advancing to the Regional meet in Abilene.

The team of Cas Moore and Marlow Davis finished in 2nd place and will advance to the next level. Joining them will be Jacee Billings who also finished in 2nd place in Girls Singles.

After losing in the finals Billings had to come back and defeat teammate Chanie Wingo in a play back match. Wingo finished in 3rd place, but qualified for the play back match and will be the first alternate to the tournament.

Jo Moore will serve as an alternate in the Girls doubles.

In the junior varsity division, the doubles team of Arielle Adams and Dacy Gutierrez finished in 1st place and in girls singles Kate Hwang won 3rd place.

Also in the junior varsity division the Boys doubles team of Braden Galvan and Ivan Esquivel won 2nd place.

In Mixed Doubles Josh Mills and Taylor Branney finished in 4th place.

Also participating for the Mustangs were Michael Aranda and Trenton Freeman in Boys Singles.

Coaching the tennis team this year was Rob Ogle and was assisted by Jenny McCray.
