George Edgar Ford Jr, 81 of Denver City passed away July 12, 2016 in Denver City. Arrangements are being handled by Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City.
George was born January 30, 1935 in Overton, Texas to George and Eleanor Ford. He married Gretchen Bashline on May 14, 1956 in Sacramento, California. George served in the United States Navy from 1954 through 1958 and then in the Reserves until 1962. George was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Delores Ray and Evelyn Roach, one brother, John T. Ray, and a step-son, Tony Ford.
George is survived by his wife, Gretchen of Denver City; two sons, George Ford III of Denver City and Joel Ford of Tyler, Texas; a sister, JoAnn Wright and her husband George of Hamilton, Texas; a grandson, James Ryan Ford and his wife Amy of Seymour, Texas; a granddaughter, Amanda Ford of Lubbock, Texas; and four great grandchildren, Carla Love, Addison Ford, Katherine Ford, and Dacy Ford of Seymour, Texas. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held at a later date and the family requests that donations be made to the ASPCA or the Alzheimer’s Association.
