Icy roads cause back-to-back accidents on US 62/385.

At approximately 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022 Brownfield PD dispatched Brownfield Fire and Rescue for a vehicle accident. According to the Terry County Sheriff’s Dept., a man was driving a white late model Ford F-150 south on US 62/385, and about a quarter-mile outside of Brownfield, the driver would lose control of the F-150 due to the ice on the highway. The driver could not stop the F-150 causing it to drive into a building. The driver was treated at the scene.

Less than an hour later, another accident took place, this time it was about four miles south of Brownfield on US 62/385. The driver of a gray Chevy Tahoe was heading and lost control and rolled the Tahoe. The Tahoe would end up in the west bar-ditch facing southeast on its wheels. Three people were in the Tahoe and were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

Terry County Sheriff’s Dept., Brownfield Fire & Rescue, TxDOT, TxDPS, and other volunteers were on both scenes.
