Jason M. “Jay” Fann

Jason M.”Jay” Fann, 28, of Plains passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 in Yoakum County, Texas.

Jason was born November 29, 1988 in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Shallowater High School in 2007. Jason attended south Plains College and graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy at South Plains College in 2016.

Jason served as a Deputy Sheriff for the Yoakum County Sheriff’s Department, Fire Marshall at Plains Fire Department and he was also a reserve Police Officer for the Seagraves Police Department

Jason was a devoted husband and father and he loved his family. He was dedicated to his community and to law enforcement. He was a man who wore many hats and badges; he was an educator, a fire fighter and a genuine public servant.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Fann, Jr.

Those left to cherish Jason’s memory are his wife, Katy McCall Fann of Plains, TX; his beloved children, Jacklynn Williams and James Fann; his mother, Sherrie Fann of Lubbock; Grandparents, Jim and Joy Fann of San Antonio; Yvonne Hallsworth of Carson City; his siblings, Jonathan Fann of San Antonio; Ryan and Melissa Fann of Lubbock; Bradley and Katie Fann of Lubbock; Justin Fann of San Antonio; Mother and father-in-law, Lee and Stephanie McCall of Shallowater, sister-in-law, Amanda McCall of Austin Brother-in-law, Adam McCall of Austin; grandparents-in-law; Barbara Evans of Shallowater and Don and Lucy Bell of Pharr, TX and many aunts and uncles.

Jason will be in state at Resthaven Funeral Home Friday from 9 AM to 8 PM and the family will be present to receive guests from 6 PM to 8PM at Resthaven.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at the Plains School Auditorium in Plains, Texas.
